ILSI SEA Region has published a summary report on the Symposium on Biotechnology and Nutritionally Enhanced Food and Crops, held on November 3-4, 2008. The report provided an overview of the nutritional status and food security in Asia; social impact, communication and consumer understanding of genetically modified (GM) crops; safety regulation of GM crops in Asia; biosafety and risk assessment; as well as development of biotech crops in Asia.
