During the Second Asia-Oceania Conference on Obesity organized by the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (MASO) on September 7-9, 2003, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, ILSI SEA Region sponsored a Symposium on Healthy Lifestyle Programs for Weight Management. The symposium focused on evaluating the impact and sustainability of public health strategies for the control of obesity, followed by a post-conference workshop on school-based intervention programs directed to the prevention and control of obesity in children. The summary report of the symposium was published in APJCN in 2004.
