ILSI SEA Region Report on Food Consumption Surveys: Review of Status in the ASEAN Region

To assist all stakeholders – including national health authorities and regulators, industry, researchers and scientists – across ASEAN to better understand the status of Food Consumption Surveys (FCS) in the region, ILSI SEA Region has published a report on FCSs and the data available in the region. The report includes general information (such as the availability of each FCS, publication year and institutes managing the FCSs), and information on the individuals and households that were sampled, the type of nutrients analysed, the food composition database that were used as reference and the average intake of the population that are published in each FCS.

This status review would allow an easy comparison of the data available in the ASEAN region. It would be useful in the identification of gaps for prioritization of key nutrient intakes to be analyzed.
