OBJECTIVES
This symposium aimed to:
- Review Food Based Dietary Guidelines as nutrition communication tools among South East Asia Countries
- Review the process of development of the 2012 Nutritional Guidelines for Filipino (NGF) and the Philippine Food Plate (Pinggang Pinoy)
- Discuss the scientific evidence behind the messages and the development of the food plate
- Develop a framework for the implementation, dissemination and evaluation of the FBDG
- Strengthen the implementation of the FBDG through multi-sectoral approach
