ILSI SEA Region together with ILSI, ILSI Human Nutrition Institute, JIFSAN, and Bogor Agricultural University organized a Symposium and Workshop on Biotechnology-Derived Nutritious Foods, in Bali, Indonesia, from February 29 to March 1, 2004. The meeting provided an opportunity for more than 45 scientists from Asia and the United States to discuss the issues and challenges of modern biotechnology in improving the nutritional status of populations in Asia. The symposium and workshop report was published in Food and Nutrition Bulletin in 2005 and comprises the executive summary and extended abstracts of the presentations.
