Workshop on Microbiological Risk Assessment

Virtual Workshop, via Zoom
17/03/2022 – 18/03/2022
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Background
Microbiological risk assessment (MRA) is a tool used to collect and analyze relevant information on foodborne pathogens for regulatory agencies to use to identify appropriate measures to minimize the adverse impact on human health. The measures include appropriate risk management and communication to control exposure of the population with keeping a balance between protection and over-cautious application.

This is a closed-door workshop, organized by ILSI SEA Region and the ASEAN Risk Assessment Centre (ARAC) will serve as the kick-start program of the capacity building initiative, focusing on how to prepare risk assessment request for quantitative MRA. The workshop is expected to be attended by the ASEAN Risk Managers, ASEAN Risk Assessors, and other relevant stakeholders.

Objectives
1) To enhance knowledge on food safety risk analysis among risk managers and risk assessors
2) To provide the latest updates on microbiological risk analysis
3) To strengthen interactions and communication between risk managers and risk assessors
